Privacy Policy

Working draft for the GetKits prototype, describing our current no-account, no-server architecture — not reviewed by counsel. This will need real updates once accounts, saved kits, or a backend (V2) ship.

This policy explains what GetKits collects when you use this site, and what it doesn't.

What we don't collect (today)

GetKits currently has no user accounts, no login, and no server-side database. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing we store about you on our servers. The checklist state on a kit page (which items you've checked or unchecked, which tier you've selected) lives entirely in your browser for that session — it is not sent to us, and it disappears when you close the tab.

What we do collect

Site analytics

Like most websites, we may use standard web analytics (e.g. page views, referring pages, device/browser type) to understand how kits are used and improve them. This is aggregate usage data, not tied to an account, because there isn't one yet.

Amazon affiliate links

Product links on GetKits carry an Amazon Associates tracking tag. When you click through to Amazon, Amazon — not GetKits — handles that transaction and any related data collection under its own privacy policy. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how that works.

Cookies

We use only the cookies necessary for the site to function and for basic analytics described above. We do not sell your data.

Children's privacy

GetKits is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

As GetKits adds accounts, saved kits, or other features that involve real data collection (planned for a future version of the product), this policy will be updated to reflect exactly what's collected and why.
